So bright the vision
I held Shona tightly in my arms.
"Time we started our work," she said.
"I don't want this to end," I replied as I caressed her face.
"Yes I know," she sighed.
"I love you Shona."
"Time we started our work," she said again.
Today is our day off," I started.
"I mean our real work. The work we came here for."
"So bright the vision," I commented.
"Yes. Our vision to help this world starts now," she remarked.
"How do we start?" I queried.
"First, we must tell the people of this world about love."
"But there is no distinction between sex and love," I retorted.
"Sex, the mechanical act of procreation," started Shona.
"Love, the divine union of the heart and intellect with the cosmos," I finished.
"We must tell them about love," repeated Shona.
"Yes. Our love will be an example to show them."
"Then we must tell them about compassion," voiced Shona.
"But that is seen as weakness," I blurted.
"This world has much to learn," cried Shona as she shook her
head.
"We must tell them the truth," I said.
"The truth that will unshackle their minds and set them free," concluded Shona.
"And we must tell them the greatest truth of all," I said.
"Yes. That all women and men are equal in the eyes of the one," finished Shona.
We opened the door and went out to start our work, for there is much to do on this world.
Shona and I, living in human form, but born of angel. Shona, angel of love and beauty.
I, angel of goodness and mercy. Together, our love shone as brightly as our vision.
