Doors
I opened the door. Immediately in front is another door. I opened the second door and on the second stair leading up are two children.
They are really grown-ups,I expected to see two grown-ups. I carried on up the stairs and reached the landing. I turned left, opened the door and went into a room.
In the room there is a bed. On the bed there is another child, arm outstretched. I stretch my right arm,she stretch her left arm. Our arms embrace.
"What took you so long?" she said.
"We need to get out before we get any younger," I replied.
I lifted her from the bed and carried her piggy back across the room. I opened the door and turned right onto the landing, walked down the stairs and at the bottom I held the two childrens' hand.
We went through the door and in front of us stood the first door. I opened the door and desired for us to be in our original reality.
It started one summer afternoon in the park. We were quietly celebrating the end of school and looking forward to making our mark on the world.
I was lying down with a blade of grass between my teeth,Jacenta's head resting on my chest. Suliman and Alisha were within arms reach.
"Ahh! This is the life, sighed Suliman. No more going back to school."
"Yes,murmured Alisha,I could stay here all day."
A fluffy white cloud sailed across the sky.
"The joys of summer. Warm sun, long and endless days for an endless summer," I babbled.
"The door into summer," said Jacenta.
"What? I exclaimed.
"It's the title of a story I read a few months back," replied Jacenta.
"Oh."
"I think it was about time travel. When you said endless summer it reminded me of the story," finished Jacenta.
"The door into summer, time travel, reality,"mused Suliman.
"Reality. That's what we are experiencing now," remarked Jacenta.
"Meaning?" I said.
"The reality we are experiencing now is that it's summer and the four of us are in the park lying on the grass, looking at the sky and talking," answered Alisha.
"Yes, but did we create this reality?" I asked
"We must have, said Suliman. We decided to come to the park and do what we are doing now,so we unconsciously or otherwise made this reality."
"So if we can unconsciously make a reality, why can't we consciously make our own reality?" suggested Jacenta.
"We can," said Suliman quietly.
"How then smarty pants? I asked.
"We can consciously make our own reality by how we think," replied Suliman.
"That's a tall order," I said.
"Not as tall as a person with depressive thoughts being depressed," put in Jacenta.
"I see,but how do you get round the nitty gritty of being in one reality to the next? I inquired.
"I take it that you have heard of D,N,C and A?" said Suliman.
"Desire,need,choice and action." explained Alisha.
"We can use that as a base to create our own realty."
"And?" I asked.
"And we can use doors to go into our own reality?" finished Suliman.
"Doors?" I exclaimed.
"Ah,doors of perception, doors of reality, doors of desire," nodded Jacenta.
"Exactly," said Suliman.
"so when we go through those doors, how do we know which reality that we will be in?" I questioned.
"Where ever your heart is,that will be your reality," replied Suliman.
"But how?" I queried.
"The heart is the focus of our desires," said Suliman.
"form a circle and hold hands," commanded Suliman.
"Why?" I said.
"It will help us to concentrate. For when the mind is stilled through concentration and meditation, there is no experience of time and our experiment will have more chances of success," replied Suliman.
We held hands and form a circle on the grass.
"Close your eyes and concentrate, said Suliman. Imagine yourself in a corridor with doors on either side. Each door is marked with a different reality."
"What happens if we get losr?" I asked.
"There is a song that we can sing to ourselves if we are lost. It will connect us to each other, for we have been friends since childhood and there is a friendship between us that cannot be broken."
"What is that song?" I interrupted.
"The song is called friends and part of it goes like this," said Suliman.
"Got a love,
Got a love,
Got a love for me-EE."
We concentrated and meditated on a corridor with lots of doors. We concentrated and concentrated and nothing happened.
"Our desire and need is not strong enough," said Suliman.
"We will come back tomorrow," I volunteered.
The next day and the rest of the summer we came back to the park, but to no avail.
It was on the fifth summer that we had success.
The four of us had reached twenty-one years of age and our desire to change our reality burned brightly in our minds.
We formed a circle, sat down, held hands and closed our eyes. We sang our song and concentrated with desire.
Our bodies shifted and coalesce in a corridor with doors stretching into infinity.
"I wonder where this place is?" I asked.
"It's in our minds," answered Suliman.
"So many doors," mused Alisha.
"The doors of reality," cried Jacenta.
"What's behind those doors?" I asked, looking to Suliman.
"Nothing, you create your own reality as you go through a door," he replied.
Alisha,Sulimanand Jacenta skipped ahead.
"Wait for me!" I shouted as they disappeared behind a door.
I ran to catch up with them, opened the door and found myself falling from a sky filled with stars.
"No-oo! I screamed,as I fell from the sky.
The rushing wind whistled as I plummeted down. I thought of my friends and a warm sunny day in the park and hoped for a soft landing.
The night lightened into day and I hit the ground with a bump. I found myself in an empty park.
"Jacenta," where are you?" I shouted.
I panicked and ran round the park.
"Suliman,Alisha,don't leave me!" I sobbed.
I put my hands on my face and wiped the tears from my eyes. I sat on the grass and started to think.
"Desire,need,choice and action."
"Where ever your heart is,that will be your reality."
"You create your own reality as you go through a door."
All those thoughts and more went round in circles in my mind as the sun cut across the sky.
I stood up,concentrated and meditated on a corridor with doors on either side.
I walked along the corridor and thought of the reality I would make when I opened a door.
I stopped at a door and at the moment of opening the door, I desired with all my heart to see my friends in the park.
I opened the door and stepped into the park.
Jacenta,Suliman and Alisha were sitting down with their eyes closed and holding hands.
"Jacenta," I shouted as I raced towards them.
I stopped.
Something was wrong.
I looked closely and saw that they were frozen.
Wrong reality,I thought.
I paced up and down the corridor as my mind went into overdrive. I consciously created the park and the reality in the park, but why were my friends in that frozen state.
Then it hit me.
They are not in the park, they are somewhere else.
It was my desire to see them that created the image of the last time I saw them in the park.
I stopped pacing and talked to myself.
"Thoughts, desire and heart," I said aloud while looking at a door.
"There is something missing," I mused.
"Jacenta,Suliman,Alisha," I screamed.
I shook with fear.
"We are lost,I am lost," I blubbered.
"What happens if we are lost?"
The words echoed in my mind and I started to sing our song.
I sang the song, opened the nearest door and found myself in a previous reality.
I watched my younger self as my mother dropped me off at the school gate. She hugged me and I gave a tentative wave as she said goodbye.
I walked into the school playground. The occasion overwhelmed me and I started to cry.
"Mummy!" I sobbed as my tears splattered on the ground.
"don't cry,we will be your friends," said three young voices in unison.
I looked up and saw two girls and one boy stretching their hands out to me.
And so our friendship was born.
I looked at the scene in it's totality and the door of my mind opened to the truth.
I knew the missing link.
I also knew how to create any reality.
I opened the door and desired to be in the same reality as Jacenta,Suliman and Alisha.
"So how did you know where we were?" asked Jacenta as we relaxed in the park.
"The previous reality of our first day at school opened my mind," I said.
"Yes,I know that, but how did you know that we were in a reverse time reality?"
"I didn't. I just desired to be in your reality," I replied.
"Thoughts are things, they are real," said Suliman quietly.
"Yes. To create any reality it is only necessary to think it into existence, but you must believe," I said.
"Your belief was the missing link," remarked Alisha.
"Yes,"I replied.
"How did the belief come to you?" asked Jacenta.
"Remember the first day at school when you three befriended me?" I started.
"Yes." Nodded Alisha,Suliman and Jacenta.
"I believed in your friendship when you held out your hands to me and watching it again opened my mind to what you can do if you really believe," I finished.
"So your thoughts, your desire, your heart and your belief will make your reality," commented Suliman.
"Yes, I said, but you must open the door of your mind to make it real."
